6:31 PM IST, 3:01 PM Local Time: Sameer Minhas finishes the game off in style. Pakistan U19 win the game by eight wickets inside 27 overs. With this win, Pakistan qualify for the Super Stage. Meanwhile, Zimbabwe U19 are also happy with this result as they too have qualified for the Super Sixes because Pakistan took more than 26 overs to chase down the target. Scotland's campaign comes to an end.
After winning the toss, Pakistan elected to field on a dry Harare track, handing the home side the opportunity to bat first. Zimbabwe’s innings struggled to gain momentum as the Pakistani bowling attack maintained consistent pressure throughout.
The Chevrons were bundled out for 128 in 35.5 overs, with opener Nathaniel Hlabangana top-scoring with a resolute 59 off 85 balls. Apart from his effort, Zimbabwe’s middle and lower order failed to make significant contributions, losing regular wickets as they attempted to rebuild.
The innings was characterised by disciplined bowling and sharp fielding from Pakistan, which restricted scoring opportunities across the lineup.
For Pakistan, the bowling unit shared the workload effectively. Ali Raza led the attack with 3 wickets for 16 runs, while Mohammad Sayyam picked up 2 for 36 and Abdul Subhan returned figures of 2 for 14. Spinner Momin Qamar also chipped in with 2 for 39, ensuring Zimbabwe never threatened to post a competitive total.
Chasing a modest target of 129, Pakistan lost an early wicket but quickly settled through a composed partnership in the middle. Opener Sameer Minhas anchored the innings with a confident 74* off 75 balls, displaying maturity beyond his years. He found solid support from Usman Khan (26) at the other end as Pakistan paced the chase calmly and efficiently.
Minhas stitched a 49-run stand with Usman Khan and another 64-run unbeaten stand with Ahmed Hussain (24*). The target was reached in 26.2 overs, with Pakistan finishing on 132 for 2, sealing a comprehensive eight-wicket victory.
Zimbabwe’s bowlers worked hard but lacked the penetration required to apply sustained pressure, allowing Pakistan to cruise home without alarm.
The win strengthened Pakistan’s position in Group C, while Zimbabwe were left to reflect on missed opportunities with both bat and ball. However, the Chevrons have qualified for the Super Sixes. The other two teams from Group C to qualify for the next phase are Pakistan U19 and England U19.
