Towhid Hridoy is a talented right-handed batter who is regarded as the future of Bangladesh Cricket. Interestingly, the Bogra-born batter became the first to hit three consecutive centuries in Youth ODIs history, achieving this feat in the U19 home series against Sri Lanka in 2019.

Hridoy made his First-Class debut at the age of 16 for Rajshahi against Chittagong in October 2017. The following year, he made his List-A debut, featuring in his maiden T20 game for Sylhet Sixers in the Bangladesh Premier League 2018-19.

The elegant batter served as the vice-captain of Bangladesh in the 2020 Under-19 World Cup. He contributed 114 runs in five games and helped the team seal their maiden U19 title.

In the 2021-22 Bangladesh Cricket League, the 22-year-old slammed 217, which was his first double century in the First-Class format.

Hridoy emerged as the third-highest run-getter of the BPL 2022-23 with 403 runs in 13 innings, with five fifties to his name.

The naturally gifted batter announced his arrival on the international stage with a stellar ODI debut against Ireland in March 2023 in Sylhet, where he struck a composed 92 off 85 deliveries, registering the highest score by a Bangladeshi debutant in ODIs. He followed it up with consistent contributions in the remainder of the series, finishing with 207 runs in 3 innings at an average of 69.00.

Hridoy's upward trajectory continued in the Asia Cup 2023, where he played several key innings. Against Sri Lanka, he scored a crucial 82 off 97 balls, and then added another vital 54 off 81 deliveries versus India, helping Bangladesh to a memorable victory.

Later in the year, Hridoy was part of Bangladesh’s squad for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India. While opportunities were limited, he featured in four matches, with his most notable effort being a composed 65 off 81 balls against South Africa on October 24. Despite modest returns, his presence in the global showpiece reflected the management’s belief in his long-term potential.

His upward trajectory continued into the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, hosted in the West Indies and the USA. In the group stage clash against Sri Lanka, Hridoy delivered a match-defining cameo, smashing 40 runs off just 20 deliveries, as Bangladesh chased down a modest target. He finished the tournament with 117 runs in 5 matches, averaging 29.25 at a strike rate of 140.24, proving his worth on the global stage and reinforcing his role as a dynamic middle-order enforcer.

Towhid Hridoy carved his name into Bangladesh’s cricketing history books during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, held in Pakistan. In the clash against India, Hridoy produced a landmark performance, scoring 100 off 118 deliveries — his maiden ODI century. This historic knock made him the first Bangladeshi batter to score a century against India in an ICC tournament.
