Harry Brook made his T20I debut for England against the West Indies on January 26, 2022, at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown. He quickly became England’s “finisher-in-chief.” His standout performance came during the 2022 tour of Pakistan, where his strike rate and composure in the middle overs were pivotal to England’s series victory.

By the 2026 T20 World Cup, Brook had evolved into a senior figure in the lineup and captained the English side. During the 2026 event, he led the charts for England with 235 runs across 8 innings, maintaining a robust average of 29.38 and a blistering strike rate of 159.86. 

His career-defining T20I moment came at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, where he smashed a magnificent 100 off just 51 balls against Pakistan, further cementing his reputation as one of the most dangerous batters in world cricket.

Harry Brook Test Career

Harry Brook’s entry into Test cricket was nothing short of historic. Making his debut for England against South Africa on September 8, 2022, he became the heartbeat of the “Bazball” revolution, scoring at a rate previously unseen in the five-day format. 

On the 2022 tour of Pakistan, Brook became the first Englishman to score three centuries in three consecutive Tests in the country, breaking records for the most runs by an Englishman in a 3-match series. 

His ability to treat Test match bowlers like white-ball spinners has made him a nightmare for opposition captains, consistently maintaining a strike rate near 90.00 while averaging over 50.

Harry Brook ODI Career

Harry Brook made his ODI debut for England against South Africa on January 27, 2023, in Bloemfontein. In the 50-over format, Brook has been utilised as a versatile floater, capable of anchoring an innings or providing a late-overs flourish. 

While his ODI career started slightly later than his other formats, he proved his worth during the 2023 season and beyond. 

His maiden ODI century against Australia showcased his growth, balancing strike rotation with calculated risks. 

Harry Brook Captaincy

Leadership has been a recurring theme in Brook’s journey. He was the skipper of the England U-19 team during the 2018 World Cup, where he became the only English captain since Alastair Cook to register a century in the tournament. 

Despite a minor disciplinary setback during his junior days, Brook matured into a tactical leader within the senior England setup.

In 2026, he officially ushered in a “New Era” for England cricket by taking over the T20I captaincy. His proactive approach and tactical flexibility were on full display during the 2026 T20 World Cup, where he led England to the semi-finals.
