Shreyanka Patil

Shreyanka Patil has rapidly emerged as one of the brightest young stars in Indian women’s cricket. Born in Karnataka, she combines skiddy off-breaks with aggressive lower-order batting, making her a valuable asset in the shortest format. 

Within a short span, Shreyanka has established herself as a match-winner for India and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), proving that age is no barrier when talent meets confidence.

Shreyanka Patil Early Career

Shreyanka Patil’s rise began through Karnataka’s age-group system before she made her senior domestic debut in 2019. Her breakthrough arrived in 2023 when she starred for India A in the ACC Women’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup, finishing as the tournament’s leading wicket-taker and claiming the Player of the Series award.

Around the same time, she impressed in the inaugural Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL), where she finished as the leading wicket-taker for the Guyana Amazon Warriors despite not having made her international debut. Those performances fast-tracked her into India’s senior setup.

Shreyanka Patil International Career

Shreyanka Patil made both her T20I and ODI debuts against Australia on December 6, 2023 and December 30 2023, respectively, marking the beginning of a promising international career.

She announced herself on the global stage during the 2024 Women’s Premier League, where she claimed the Purple Cap with 13 wickets in eight matches and produced a match-winning spell of 4/12 in the final to help RCB lift their maiden WPL title.

Her stellar season established her as one of India’s premier young spinners and earned her a place among the finalists for the ICC Women’s Emerging Cricketer of the Year award. 

Although an ankle injury forced her to miss the latter stages of the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, Shreyanka’s fearless mindset, clever variations and composure under pressure continue to make her one of the most exciting all-round prospects in Indian women’s cricket.
