An explosive top-order batsman and a useful off-spinner, Danielle Wyatt has been a staggering cricketer for England and is unstoppable when in full flow. Wyatt made her international appearance at the tender age of 19 years and became a limited-overs giant for the modern-gen English side.

The all-rounder debuted in 2010 in both ODI and T20I formats. Initially, she used to bat in the middle-order to showcase her power-hitting and contributed with spin bowling as well. She used to be a bit-and-pieces player who had too much potential but too little performance. Her bowling was economical but Wyatt didn’t scalp too many wickets, while her batting stats were simply poor.

An awful moment came in Wyatt’s career when her bowling action was reprimanded by ICC in 2013, but got cleared in 2016. However, her life took a complete U-turn in 2017 when the opener from Staffordshire smashed a T20I fifty against Australia to help England revive from 16/4 to 132/9. Seeing the promise, head coach Mark Robinson pushed Wyatt up the order and she hasn’t dropped a beat since then.

Wyatt was also part of England’s World Cup-winning squad during the 2017 event where she played five games and played a couple of vital knocks in the lower middle order.

Post the Women’s Ashes series of 2017, the power-hitter smashed her maiden international century against Australia and helped her team chase a mammoth target in a scintillating manner. She backed it up with another ton, an innings later, against India where she cracked a 64-ball 124 in another chase.

In 2018, Wyatt opened the batting for England during the World T20, though the opener had a very ordinary tournament. Her poor form continued in the 2018-19 season as per. However, she redeemed herself by scoring her maiden ODI century against Pakistan.

The Stoke-on-Trent-born played the 2020 World T20 squad where the tournament ended in an awful fashion for England. The second semifinal between England and India got washed out leaving the team with more points as India went through.

Over the years, the dasher has also played in various franchise leagues across the globe. In 2018, she was picked by Melbourne Renegades for the Women's Big Bash League and has also represented IPL Velocity in the Women’s T20 Challenge.

Since 2017, the dasher’s career taken a complete 180-degree. She has been contributing in a phenomenal fashion to England’s setup. However, inconsistency has been a real hiccup for Wyatt. The Lancashire Thunder batter also faced the axe for the ODI squad against India at home in 2021. With age and experience on her side, the opener can potentially become an English white-ball legend before she ultimately hangs her boots up.
