The Royal Dutch Cricket Association was formed in 1883, which consisted of 18 member clubs. The English team started to tour the country from 1886 onwards.
However, the Netherlands secured Associate Membership of the ICC in 1966. \
The merger between Royal Dutch Cricket Association and Dutch Women’s Cricket Association happened in 1985, and the responsibility to manage junior as well as senior cricketers.
The Dutch team made their ODI debut in the 1996 edition of the ODI World Cup, and stood last in their points table with no wins in five matches.
Their first win in the 50-overs format came in the 2003 edition of the ODI World Cup against Namibia.

From January 1 2006 till February 1 2014, Netherlands enjoyed their ODI status. However, they got back their T20I status in the same year. \
After emerging as the winner of the 2015–2017 ICC World Cricket League Championship, Dutch team regained their ODI status.
In 2022, Netherlands played their first bilateral ODI series against England in the history of the game, but conceded a series whitewash.
Ryan Ten Doeschate (1541) has scored the most runs, while Muddasar Bukhari with 57 wickets is the most successful bowler for Netherlands in ODIs.
In the T20I format, Ben Cooper has 1239 runs, while the recently retired Pieter Seelaar had picked up 58 wickets.
