The Oman National Cricket Team is run by Oman Cricket, which became an affiliate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2000.

A team led by Captain Jatinder Singh and Coach Duleep Mendis, Oman gained their ODI status in 2014, after being upgraded from an affiliate member of the ICC to an associate member.

They are yet to gain Test status, even an ICC event. However, they have shown their prowess by participating in the 2016 World Twenty20, where they recorded an upset victory over Ireland. They were also a part of the 2024 T20 World Cup, held in the USA and the West Indies, where they played teams in Australia and England.

The Asia Cup 2025 is Oman's inaugural appearance in any ACC Asia Cup. They are scheduled to play in India, Pakistan, and the UAE in their debut Asia Cup.
