Yorkshire County Cricket Club is one of 18 first-class county clubs in England and Wales' domestic cricket framework. Yorkshire is the historic county it depicts. Yorkshire have competed in the County Championship since its inception in 1890, and have represented England in every top-level domestic cricket competition.
Yorkshire have won 33 County Championship titles, including one shared, making them the most successful side in English cricket history. The team won the Championship for the second time in 2015, after winning it in 2014. The Yorkshire Vikings are the club's limited overs team, and their colours are Cambridge blue, Oxford blue, and yellow. Yorkshire sides, primarily the ancient Sheffield Cricket Club, have played first-class cricket since the 18th century, and the county club has always maintained first-class status.
The majority of Yorkshire's home games are held at Headingley Cricket Ground in Leeds. Another notable location is Scarborough's North Marine Road Ground, which hosts the annual Scarborough Festival. Yorkshire has played at a variety of venues in the past, including Bramall Lane in Sheffield, Horton Park Avenue in Bradford, St George's Road Cricket Ground in Harrogate, The Circle in Kingston upon Hull, and Acklam Park in Middlesbrough. In 2015, the squad drew an average of 8,417 fans to seven home games.
