NEPAbout Dipendra Singh Airee
The youngster first received a national call-up in a T20I series against the Netherlands in 20187. He made his debut on July 29th against the same opponents which ended in a no-result. In September 2020, Dipendra was one of eighteen cricketers to be awarded a central contract by the Nepal Cricket Association.
Dipendra Singh shot to fame when he broke Yuvraj Singh’s record for the fastest fifty in a T20I. He reached the milestone off just nine deliveries against Mongolia in Asian Games 2023. He is also one of the only three batters to have hit six sixes in an over in a T20 international. Yuvraj Singh and Kieron Pollard are the other two names in this elite list.
Since his debut, the all-rounder has played over 119 international games and has become a mainstay in this young Nepalese squad with over 2,500 runs. His consistency and composure have been a thing to watch, and Nepal are going to bank on him to produce the fireworks in the upcoming years. His form could cause a few headaches for the Test playing nations who will be in Nepal’s group in the T20 World Cup 2024.
