Kranti Gaud

One of the brightest pace-bowling talents in Indian women’s cricket, Kranti Gaud has rapidly risen from the tennis-ball grounds of rural Madhya Pradesh to the international stage. A right-arm fast-medium bowler blessed with natural pace, sharp seam movement and an attacking mindset, Kranti has emerged as a symbol of India's growing fast-bowling depth.

Kranti Gaud Early Career

Born on August 11, 2003, in Ghuwara, a small town in Madhya Pradesh, Kranti Gaud's cricketing journey began far away from the spotlight.

Encouraged to run hard and bowl fast, Kranti steadily refined her craft before graduating to professional cricket with Madhya Pradesh.

Her breakthrough arrived during the 2024 Women's Senior One Day Trophy, where she emerged as one of the tournament's standout performers. Kranti claimed 17 wickets, including a superb spell of 4 for 25 in the final, playing a pivotal role in Madhya Pradesh lifting the title. 

Kranti Gaud International Career

Kranti Gaud's domestic exploits soon caught the attention of the national selectors. In April 2025, she received her maiden India call-up as a replacement for Kashvee Gautam in the Women's Tri-Nation ODI Series in Sri Lanka. 

She made her ODI debut in the tournament final and quickly established herself as a dependable pace option for India. Her ability to swing the new ball while maintaining disciplined lengths made an immediate impression.

The youngster continued her rapid rise by earning her maiden T20I cap during India's tour of England before producing a career-defining performance in the deciding ODI of the same series. With the series hanging in the balance, Kranti delivered a sensational spell of 6 for 52, becoming the youngest Indian woman pacer to register a five-wicket haul in Women's ODIs and surpassing the record previously held by Jhulan Goswami.

Her biggest moment, however, arrived in Test cricket. Making only her second appearance in the longest format, Kranti etched her name into cricket history at Lord's by claiming a magnificent five-wicket haul against England. 

It was a landmark achievement that showcased her remarkable composure, relentless accuracy and ability to thrive on the grandest stage. For Indian women's cricket, Kranti Gaud represents the next generation of fast bowlers, fearless, skilful and ready to lead India's pace attack for years to come.
