Nallapureddy Shree Charani is a slow left-arm orthodox bowler and left-handed batter. She was born on August 4, 2004, in Andhra Pradesh and later represented her home team, the Andhra Women’s Team, in the domestic circuit. Additionally, she currently plays for Delhi Capitals Women (DC) in the Women’s Premier League (WPL).

She is a magician with a ball. She is challenging for a bowler to face because of her slower deliveries, which are highly concealed, and the variations she uses as armour.

From an early age, it was clear that she loved cricket. Charani was quickly enrolled in a nearby cricket academy to refine her skills, where she cultivated her gift as a versatile all-round player. Her admission into professional cricket was made possible by her unstoppable performance in the junior-level competition.

Shree Charani ODI career

As part of India’s preparations for the 2025 home World Cup, Shree Charani received her maiden international call-up in April 2025 for the ODI Tri-Series against Sri Lanka and South Africa.

She made her ODI debut on April 27, 2025, against Sri Lanka, finishing with two wickets and conceding just 26 runs in eight overs.

After continuously impressing the national selectors, Shree earned a spot in India’s historic, title-winning 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup squad. She became the first cricketer from Andhra – men or women – to play in the World Cup.

The left-arm spinner, only a few months after her India debut, played her maiden World Cup. She eventually finished with 14 wickets across 9 matches, providing crucial breakthroughs that helped secure the trophy.

Shree Charani T20I Career

Shree Charani received her maiden T20I cap during India’s multi-format tour to England in June-July 2025. She had a dream start to her journey in the shortest format of the game, picking up a 4-fer for just 12 runs.

Later, Shree Charani was named in India women’s squad for the T20 World Cup 2026 in the United Kingdom, ending the marquee event as the leading wicket-taker despite her team’s early group stage exit.

Shree Charani Test Career

During the historic first-ever Women’s Test match at Lord’s Cricket Ground, Shree Charani made her debut, but she couldn’t claim her maiden wicket across both innings.
