Malki Madara

Malki Madara is among Sri Lanka’s new wave of fast-bowling talent, making her mark with raw pace and an eye for wickets. Born in Akuressa on December 30, 2000, she climbed swiftly through the domestic system before breaking into the senior side in 2025.

Her international debut came in the ODI Tri-Nation Series in Colombo, where she played against India on 27 April 2025. Just days later, Madara announced herself in style with a four-wicket burst (4/50) against South Africa — a performance that turned heads and highlighted her ability to trouble quality batters.

In her first five ODIs, she has picked up six wickets, with that four-wicket haul standing out as an early career highlight. While her numbers are still in the building phase, her pace and bounce have already added a much-needed edge to Sri Lanka’s attack.
